The arrival of warmer weather provides the perfect opportunity for some spring cleaning. And for some guys, perhaps the place to start is the closet. Ladies, if your man’s wardrobe is woefully out of date (Pleated khakis? A different basketball jersey for every day of the week? Really?) and he has the hairstyle to match, our Makeover My Man contest will give start him on the road to nixing some of his bad style habits.
The man in most need of a makeover will receive a $500 prize package — $250 to buy some new clothes and $250 to be used at Capella salon, where they’ll treat him like a king and give him a fresh look (Because the Joaquin Phoenix beard thing isn’t working, pal).
• Through Friday, April 2: Upload a photo here and tell us why you or your friend/spouse/significant other is in dire need of a makeover. We will then choose a select few finalists, based on the photos and explanations (so make sure you are thorough and convincing).
• April 5-12: Readers will vote here and decide which guy needs the $500 makeover the most.
• Then, we’ll join the winning guy and document his makeover (and to make sure he doesn’t just buy more camo pants and orange vests), and share the photos in a future issue of Juice.
• $250 salon package from Capella Salon, 2211 N.W. 111th St., in Clive.
Includes: cut/color, beard trim, hand paraffin treatment and hot facial towel relaxation.
• $250 to spend on clothes at Jordan Creek Town Center.
